- 영미법(英美法, Anglo-American law)은 영국에서 발생해 영어를 쓰는 나라와 영국 식민지 국가로 퍼져 나간 법체계이다. 보통법 혹은 코먼로(common law)라고도 한다. 판례가 구속력을 가지는가 하는 점에서 대륙법체계와 구별된다.
- 유명한 미국 법률가 홈즈는 "법의 생명은 논리에 있는 것이 아니라 경험에 있다"라고 말하였듯 영미법은 사건속에서 보편적인 법 원칙을 "발견"하는 원리를 따른다.
